I'm getting bigger!

Monday, September 27, 2010

Greetings Everyone:
It has been a busy summer and went by way to fast! We had our third donation garage sale which went great and we are focusing on paying off the medical bills from the surgery to remove the cyst and saving for embryo adoption. It's going to take longer than we thought but one thing we know how to do is wait....
The surgery was so much more than we expected and we owe 5,000 out of pocket so it's going to take a little while to pay this off! I'm feeling back to normal and glad that part is over.

One step at a time by faith!!
We have been enjoying our horses this summer and we just bought a German Shepherd puppy 7 weeks old, she is fabulous and has transitioned to us and our home great! Sadly we had to put our 10 year old Shepherd down a week ago, he had gone completely lame and couldn't move around, they become such a part of the family and it was hard. Since we don't have children we come home and would play with our dog, we miss him daily but our new little friend has helped alot and provide's fun and entertainment!

We are still following all of your blog's and love to see the process and know we are not alone.

Have a blessed week,
David & Jody

Greetings Everyone:

Wanted to let you know that the surgery to remove the cyst from my ovary went very well, my first surgery ever and I was thankful it went so smooth. It took a couple weeks to heal but I am back to walking and work.
We are almost done with our home study just waiting on our background checks and we are having our second fundraiser garage sale this next weekend. We received great donations for the garage sale and a big thank you to all who gave!

Have a blessed week...

Our next step...

Greetings Everyone!

Wanted to give you an update as to what step we are on in this journey. Two weekends ago we had our first fundraiser garage sale and it was a huge success thanks to all who gave of their time and stuff! Recently I went to my first doctor's appointment and they did an ultrasound and found a cyst on my right ovary which will be removed the second week in June, I have never had surgery so I'm praying for it to go smoothly, it's sounds simple and is out patient so I go home the same day. We have our first home study meeting Monday night which we are excited about as everything seems to be going great and God is leading the way.
I have to say I really enjoy reading other blogs and following your journey as well, it also helps me prepare for what's next and is always encouraging to see the victories happen and we pray for those who's outcome's don't turn out the way we desire them too. Thank you for all your prayers and support.....

May the Lord give you favor and peace,

Jody & David

We have just completed our application and will be sending it in this week. One of our picture collages we made to go with our application is shown above. We have been spreading the word of what we are doing and we are thankful for the prayer and support we are getting.
Our pastor has asked us to speak at all three services the weekend after Easter and share about embryo adoption, what an exciting opportunity to share about the need for these babies to be adopted as I know there is other couples at our church struggling with infertility. We are praying others will be led to adopt through embryo adoption as we share this exciting journey.
We are going to have a fundraiser garage sale this Spring to raise money for adoption and are asking our church family and friends to donate items for us to sale. We are putting our patient pants on the taking this one step at a time and praying for God to bring us the perfect babies we are supposed to raise up for Him. The more we talk and think about it the more excited we get!!
Thanks for joining us on our journey……

Greetings friends and family:

Thanks for joining our journey. We have completed our website and have been handing out cards with the website on it so people can keep up to date with us as we go forward. I talked to Maria Lancaster who is an advocate for embryo adoption, her and her husband have a seven year old daughter they adopted and are now in charge of helping others adopt embryos too through Cedar Park Church, they have even been invited to the White House to talk about their experience adopting embryo's. Maria sent us our first step which is an application which includes us filling out our information in and making photo collages of us and our family to give to the donor family, they also want us to write a letter describing who we are and what we like to do. The application process cost $150.00 and 2 people have donated enough to pay for this process, isn't God good, He provides and we are thankful. The next step will be me going to the doctor and getting a couple tests to ensure I can carry a baby, after this will be our home study. We will continue to keep you up to date as things happen.
